Thanksgiving in Kentucky.

We went to Kentucky this past weekend for Aunt Tammy's annual Thanksgiving. Caroline had so much fun tearing up Granny's house. Her Paw Paw fed her strawberry jelly and Granny fed her everything! I think Caroline's favorite time of year will be Thanksgiving! I swear as much as she ate she should weigh another pound or two! Here are a few pics. I can't wait for her to get older so she can ride the horses in Kentucky with Granny. We are going to Aunt Peg's for Thanksgiving Day, so more good food to come for the little one!

Caroline's first visit with Santa

We went to see the famous Santa at Phipps a few weeks ago. Caroline could not figure out who he was! Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Halloween in Mississippi

Ok, it has been a while. I have a lot to update!! We went home to Mississippi for Halloween/my 10 year high school reunion. Caroline was a monkey for about 3 minutes for Halloween. She wanted nothing to do with that costume! I hope we have better luck next ear!

MeMe

Ok, I have been tagged. 6 random things about me are:

1. I have only gotten one speeding ticket in my 13 years of driving. I was going 3 miles over the speed limit and I got stopped on foot. I had justed turned 18 too so no driving school to make it disappear. If I remember correctly it was close to $100 too!

2. I grew up in a very small town. So small that it has two stop lights but at the same intersection! They put the new one up about 15 years ago thinking the other would go dead at some point, but they are both still working. I say I grew up in a small town but I truly grew up 10 minutes outside of the town in the country on a farm.

3. I was very shy, then I became a waitress in high school and as my Mom says I blossomed in that role. Now I will talk to you whether you want me to or not. :)

4. I used to be a very good cook. I even used to teach students in the student run restaurant how to cook. I don't know if lack of practice or the run down of the restaurant business wore it out of me but I am average at best these days. Thank Goodness Les is a wonderful cook.

5. I am hard of hearing and have an accute sense of hearing at the same time. I have a hard time hearing people, I think this is from the restaurant business as well, but I can hear the tiniest things that do not bother other people but worry me to death.

6. I have a crazy sense of smell. This drives my Mother crazy!!! She just got a new car and I asked her if it smelled the same as her last one. She had no idea what I was talking about.

Ok - that is it. I don't have 6 people to tag as everyone that I know has already been tagged. I have one - Katie you have been tagged.

Saturday = Funday!

This is my first official weekend off for the rest of my life! Well maybe not that far but I do start my new position in my company on Tuesday. I will now only have to work 1 Saturday a month. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have weekends off with Caroline and Les!

We got up this morning to go and look at Les's new listing. We could not get in as it is an exclusive gated community and the guard would not let us past. So we turned around and went to the Marble Festival in Jasper, GA. Not much to this one but we did run into some of Les's family friends.

We then went on to the pumpkin patch! Caroline loved playing in the pumpkins and the hay. I could not get any great pictures because she was paying no attention to Mommy. Les had been trying to get in the house all day and finally got the call back so we headed north again. If anyone is interested in an estate for a really good price let me know. It is absolutely beautiful! We then stopped at a farmer's market and got some fresh veggies for Caroline.

We had such a nice day! I am so excited to have a more stable schedule to spend time with my family!!!

Happy 8 months baby girl!

Ok, I am maybe the worst blogger ever. Time just goes by so fast these days. Miss Caroline turned 8 months on Sunday! I have seen this other places so pardon the copy. It is just too cute.

8 in 8

1. Caroline has gotten really fast with her crawling. There is no more sitting down for Mom.

2. Caroline stands up on everything! Her favorite is to stand up at the dog's food station and play in the water. Poor Riley is so thirsty by the time Caroline goes to bed.

3. Her favorite time of day is bath time! She has two ruber duckies but the yellow one is the favorite. I have also never known a baby that looks forward to having water poured on her head.

4. She is such a sweet sleeper and even sweeter when she wakes up. She will play in her crib for I think what would be hours when she wakes up. Of course that never happens becuase Mama is too excited for her to stay in there long.

5. She has bonded with her otter that her Nanna bought her at the aquarium. She likes to chew on his tail. Close second is Mr. Fuzzly that Aunt Jill gave her that she got from walking in the 2 day Breast Cancer Walk.

6. Can say Mama but only when she is upset.

7. Loves to play with anything that is not hers. The dogs water, the laundry basket, Mommy's necklaces, and she loves the remote control and cell phones.

8. Caroline loves Mickey Mouse! She is mesmerized when he is on TV.

Mommy and Daddy love you baby! I promise to write more things down and become a better blogger.

The pink duck is good too!

I'm ready to get out now!

This is not going to keep me contained!

Who wants to sit in it anymore? It is much more fun on the outside!

Caroline can roll over!

Caroline has been rolling from her back to her tummy for about 2 weeks now. She has finally gotten really good at it. The problem is she won't nap and is hard to put to sleep becuase she has discovered this. Here is a short video of her. I love at the end she looks at me like "What now Mom"?

Weekend with Grandpa

My Dad came out this weekend to see Caroline and us on the way home from Gatlinburg. We pretty much hung out, ate, went to see the laser show at Stone Mountain, ate, visited, and ate some more. Boy, did Caroline love the fireworks!!! Caroline has figured out how to roll over from her back to her tummy and is so proud. She did it on her 4 month birthday so it will be easy for Mom to remember. On Sunday when Daddy swore that they could eat no more and were going home, we went to the pancake house with Katie and the girls to eat some more! I got a glimpse into my future when as soon as the pancakes hit the table Caroline had a major blow out and then proceeded to throw up on my twice. Thank God for Katie! I could not have managed without you on Sunday. After we ate Daddy headed out on his way home. I called him several hours later expecting him to be over half way home but he was just leaving Six Flags. He did not go for the rides or the entertainment, he had to get the dog another stuffed Bugs Bunny! Can you imagine if his dog is this spoiled what will I be in for with Caroline?!!

Caroline turned 4 months old!

Caroline turned 4 months old last Wednesday. She went to the doctor and weighed in at 11 lbs 15 oz.! She is already past the 12 lb mark now. She has also grown in length to 23 and 3/4 inches. She is still little but she is growing like a weed!

Hanging out with Daddy

Here are some pics of Caroline hanging out with her Daddy! Les does not like her to wear her hair bows so he put his hat on her! We are going to have to find her a hat that fits. Hopefully I can find a pink one!

Mother's Day

Here are some pictures from Mother's Day. My Mom was in town and we went to church and then to brunch with Aunt Jill. The other picture is from my first sun suit that Grammy brought me!

Pictures of Caroline

Here are some new pictures. Caroline is getting so big! You can see a rare shot of her doing "tummy time". This is rare because she just rolls right over!!! The pictures in her crib is her looking at her aquarium. Thanks to Cousin Bess and Cousin Jack for this gift! She loves it and it is an absolute life saver! Her favorite sound is the ocean and she will also usually go right to sleep with the ocean noise from her sound machine too! We are definitely going to have to make another trip with Grandpa and Gran-Lou, I think we are going to have a water baby!

Caroline's first trip to the beach!

We went to the beach this past weekend with Les's Dad and Lucy. They have a beautiful condo with a gorgeous view of the gulf in Gulf Shores, AL. We had a wonderful time and Caroline definitely loves the sunshine. She was happiest on the deck listening to the waves and looking around. I even got her first smile while we were down there. Her Grand - Lou bought her the prettiest Easter outfit. She looks like a little doll! The sunshine wore her out, she has slept better since we went down there than ever! I swear she is a little bigger too. I can't wait until she is a little older and she can play on the beach.

Caroline's birthday

I went into the hospital to be induced on January 27,2008 due to high blood pressure. It turned out that I was already progressing so they let me go to sleep and told me we would start the pitocin at 6 am. I decided to try and get some sleep and tried to get Les to as well. This was pretty much impossible, have you ever tried to sleep on a labor and delivery bed? I have never slept on a rock but this is pretty much what I would imagine it to be. They came in around 5 and we got started. This was nothing that I had thought it would be. I had been told the pitocin would be terrible but it never felt like anything more than mild cramps. The Dr. then decided to give me an epi and break my water. I have no idea why I had dreaded that epi for 9 months. Needless to say I made it out to be much worse than it was. I'm sure it was not fun for Les to watch those needles go in my back, but he never let on that he was uncomfortable. I rested for a few hours and Les's Dad and Lucy kept us company.

After a few hours Dr. Garcia decided that Miss Caroline was not going to come on her own and I was prepped for a c-section. Needless to say I was scared to death of a section. They took me to the OR and after a few minutes Les was allowed to come in to the room. We were in the smallest room they had so it was very tight. I was kind of numb from the epi but I could feel everything that was going on. They started and I could feel the scapel. Everything happened very fast from that point. They knocked me out and kicked Les out of the room. I woke up about an hour later in severe pain in the recovery room. I could see the baby but I could not hold her I was in such pain. They moved me to a room and finally found something that eased the pain. I was able to hold the baby after that. My Mom and Aunt Jill were laughing because Caroline and I were making some of the same facial expressions. Caroline came out with my lips but everything else was her Daddy. I was pretty out of it for a good 24 hours, I don't even remember talking to friends that called on the phone that night.

The next day the meanest nurse on the planet came to get me out of bed at 6:30 am! This was one of the hardest things that I have ever done in my life. It hurt like nothing I have felt before. Les helped me the rest of the time that I was in the hospital. I don't know that I could have done it without him! Neither one of us is the most patient person in the world, so I know that he wanted to tell me to just get on with it. He had had even less sleep than I had at this point. He took the best care of me during my whole 2 week recovery process. It is amazing how you forget these things. I never would have thought I would even talk about having another one, but we are. Not soon enough for Les though. They tell me the second c-section is much easier. Let's hope so!!!
